Alessandra and Kallias are perhaps among the most charming villains (or morally-gray anti-heroes, depending on which side of that debate you're on), and I would die for more villainous romances comparable to theirs. The Shadows Between Us may seem to be promoting all the wrong values, but you'll find virtuous maidens and just rulers in plenty of other fantasy tomes. By hiding her intelligence and ambition behind the mask of a beautiful air-headed girl, she has become a wealthy duchess.

By the beginning of the book, she’s already grown into the most wonderful, brave woman we always knew she could be. After reading the blurb for this book I was very intrigued because it sounded so fun and full of some classic elements I like! Friendship: Suffice it to say that the female friendships in this book are a rare, heartwarming blessing. The cookie also tracks the behavior of the user across the web on sites that have Facebook pixel or Facebook social plugin.Meanwhile, Kallias never intends to marry, as the shadow magic that makes him nearly immortal will vanish if he is touched. A thousand years after that, we follow Eliana, a bounty hunter working for the Empire, which is the evil government in place now. The problem is that it completely misdelivered it all, unable to execute its own performance and therefore stumble upon the rabbit hole of 'boring'.

It does however have a small sex scene and talk of sex is very prevelent in the book nothing descriptive though.

Her story takes place a thousand years after Rachel’s story, so the real story is this fairy tale, and that world doesn’t feel real to Eliana. With a cunning plot, robust writing, and complicated characters, any reader will enjoy being manipulated in Levenseller's capable hands. My title might not be as fancy as Kallias’s, nor my pocketbook quite as deep, nor my estate quite so large. Women should have complete autonomy and respect (yes, of course) but female characters are allowed to use, disrespect, or persuade their partners sexually and thats okay?

Brie finds herself caught between two princes and two destinies while the future of the fae realm hangs in the balance. But yeah, I get it, it's standalone, and while I may have some grief with the lack of world setting, I love the author for keeping it a standalone.

i started this when i got home from work and stayed up until 2am (even though i knew i had to get up early) because i just could not. Seriously, the amount of Tik Tok's I have seen with this book made me wonder even more if readers truly enjoy these books or if they're just trying to hop on the bandwagon . So thank you, Tricia, for giving the big eff you to the more popular theme of changing morally grey characters to white flags of peace and generosity.
